Winter Beauty Tips
Winter is here and isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Are you having winter skin issues, we all are. Here are a few tips to fix the dry winter skin you have had the past couple of weeks.
1. Take shorter showers. Hot water removes the skin's natural oils leaving it dry.
2. Use a mild soap that has moisturizing agents in the soap. Sccented soap, deoderant soaps or antibacterial soaps can dry out your skin.
3. Moisturize. Do this everyday, twice a day on dryer aras.
4. When shaving make sure you use shaving cream or a body wash and change your blades often. Shaving can irritate already dry skin so be careful.
5. Wear sunscreen every day of the year.
6. Wear chapstick with sunscreen in it and apply often.
Models should use these easy tips to keep their skin gorgeous even in the rough winter months.

Save Time And Money While Looking Amazing
All women want to feel beautiful but it's not always easy. Beauty can be painful, expensive and time consuming. I found an article on self.com that lists 8 things women can do to get ready faster and save money. Here is a list of 8 things that models should change this year, it will make getting ready easier and save you money.
* When getting a manicure ask them to file or cut your nails short. Your manicure will last much longer.
* Stop dying your hair. If you insist on dying your hair try to keep it close to your natural hair color so it can grow out and not be as noticeable.
* Leave your hair its normal texture. Do you really want to blow dry, straighten or curl your hair everyday? Of course not so don't! This will allow you to get extra hours of sleep too.
* Stick to skin products that work. Buying new things and trying every product on the market will cause problems and you will waste money.
* Stop tweezing your eyebrows. Some models do this too much! Full eyebrows are good and allow you to wear less make up...which means it will take less time to get ready.
* Do all your running around make up free. If you insist on going to the grocery store with make up on skip the foundation and eyeliner and just use mascara, lip gloss and a little blush. There is no reason to be done up while running errands.
* Skip waxing. It's dangerous and expensive. There are a lot of products that you can buy now that are cheaper and you can do it your self.
* Love your body. If you don't you will spend a lot of time thinking of how you need to change everything about your body and spend a lot of money trying to do it. There is no such thing as a perfect body and you should never compare yourself to a body that you see on a magazine cover, they are airbrushed! Models have flaws too.
People that work in the modeling industry are expected to be dressed to impress at every event. Follow these few tips to look just as good while spending less time and money.

Promotional Models: Rules of 2010
This is our first blog of 2010! We have a new year ahead of us and the staff at Pink Avenue Models is really excited for the new year and new events. We do have a lot of exciting promotions planned for 2010 and we just want to make sure our models are ready. Here are 10 rules to live by in 2010 when working promotions, hopefully you already obey them, if not it's time to make changes!
1. Show up on time! On time means 15 minutes early. Make sure you leave with enough time to travel and park.
2. Have all the items you will need for any promotion. Black pants, black skirt, black heels, khaki pants, gym shoes, long sleeved white shirt and professional attire for trade shows.
3. Make sure you fill out all of the necessary paperwork that your agency requires. Do it as soon as you get it. If the agency has to ask multiple time it will make you look unprofessional and it will be hard for them to book you again.
4. Don't cancel last minute. There is no excuse. You canceling last minute hurts the modeling agency that booked you, hurts the client that you were scheduled to work for and hurts your reputation. Modeling agencies understand that things come up but when they hear excuses such as... I'm sick, I had a family emergency, I had to go out of town all of a sudden or anything else right before a promotion it's hard to believe.
5. Have your pictures and resumes updated. Please don't send in pictures from 2006, that is 4 years ago and we can't send that to clients. Try do get new pictures at least twice a year and update your resume after each event. Clients and agencies like to know about your experience.
6. If you have any problems with the promotion that you are working do not ever complain to the client. Always call the modeling agency that booked you and talk to them about it. Yes, you are working for the client but the modeling agency hired you. All problems should be directed to the person that hired you.
7. Remember the basic rules of every promotion. Know your product, never make up an answer to a question that you don't know about the product, don't swear or talk unprofessionally to anyone, don't text, email or talk on your phone while working. Promotional models make a lot of money and get to work in a fun atmosphere, don't take advantage of it.
8. Dress to impress. Show up hair and make up ready. You are called a promotional model for a reason. Please don't show up to promotions with unbrushed hair, unshowered, with wrinkly clothes on or anything else. Think model when you are getting ready.
9. Respond to the agency or client if they contact you. Clients may contact you to go over important things about the promotion and the agency may contact you to get more information or go over things. Please get back to the agency as soon as you can. You can email or call, which ever is easiest for you.
10. Always have fun! Personality is a requirement for promotional models. Leave all your problems at the door when working a promotion. Have fun, smile, meet people, and make money. If you are in a bad mood it will come off to consumers, the client and co workers.
Lets have a great 2010!
