I have to say thank you to our trade show model Ashley for working the Automotive Testing Expo in Novi, Michigan. Ashley worked this trade show 2 days this week and did an amazing job. She was hired to attract attendees to the booth, educate consumers, and enter them into a raffle. She looked great and had fun. Thanks Ashley!

Bad Boss? Bad Event? Stay Professional!
Promotional modeling is a fun job with tons of perks...models get paid well, have a flexible schedule, get to work exciting events, usually leave with free samples, meet tons of people and have fun while working. Most promotions are a great time with an amazing staff but I'm sure we have all worked an event with a boss that was less than nice. The type of person that is bossy, not fun, watches over you and complains about everything. I can relate and have been in this situation. This can take the fun out of the event and makes you not want to work. Promotions are meant to be fun and when the person in charge isn't having fun it's hard for the staff to have fun and be energized.
So what should you do if this happens? You definitely have the right to call the modeling agency that hired you and tell them what is happening on site. It's nice for the agency to hear your side, any modeling agency should always trust what their models say. If it is so bad that you hate working the event have the agency replace you. If you hate your event it will show to consumers and they don't deserve that. Do what you can to make the best of it and stay professional. Promotional models know what is expected of them, if you are getting out the brand messages, handing out the samples, have high energy and are smiling than you are doing your job.
Like anything in this world every promotion is not perfect, just do your best! Happy promoting!

Automotive Testing Expo - Novi, Michigan!
Pink Avenue Models staffs events all over the county but this will be our first show in Novi, Michigan. The Automotive Testing Expo will take place October 26-28 at The Rock Financial Place. This show focuses on the latest automotive test and evaluation technology. This trade show will have over 200 exhibitors displaying their newest products. NYC Event - Tomorrow!
The staff at Pink Avenue Models is really excited for our event in New York tomorrow. It is one of the most exciting events we've been asked to staff. We have teamed up with a new client and they will be at the NASDAQ Opening Bell ceremony tomorrow. Our model will be dressed as a 50's waitress wearing roller skates, it goes with the clients theme. The Pink Avenue Process
The staff at Pink Avenue Models gets calls everyday from interested models. Everyone wants to know our process and how things work. It's quite simple. Pink Avenue Models is a Chicago based modeling agency that staffs mostly promotions, trade shows, street teams, and even print ads and some runway shows. We are capable of staffing any type event all over the country.
We accept all of our talent submissions online through our "Become a Model" page. Interested models are asked basic info and we require a head shot, body shot, favorite picture and candid photo from everyone. Our clients like to see a variety of pictures. Pink Avenue Models is selective, we are interested in having reliable, experienced and professional models on our team. Our models should be outgoing, attractive, fun and have to take their job seriously. Some agencies have databases of 20,000 people and that is something we will never do, with that said we do not accept everyone. We want our models to enjoy their job, show up on time which means 15 minutes early, and represent our clients to the best of their ability. If you feel like you meet these requirements please submit online, we look forward to working with you!
Another common question is...I'm always available to work but the client never chooses me, what can I do differently? Each client is looking for something different to represent their brand or company. Some clients want blondes, some want tall models, some want bilingual. No model is going to get picked for every event they are available for. This industry is very competitive, and some of the markets are huge meaning we can send 50+ models to a client for approval. Don't get discouraged, your day will come.
If a model backs out last minute, pulls a no call no show, gets a bad review from a client, walks off or does anything else unacceptable they will possibly be removed from our team. This is an industry full of excuses and each issue will be handled individually. I recommend working for what you signed up for and avoiding a bad reputation.

CFA, Chicago!
Congratulations to the models that just got booked for the CFA in Chicago! This is the 66th year for this show and it will take place October 20-22. This is a trade show for anyone that is interested in asset - based lending, software development, accounting, law, insurance, document retrieval and so much more. There are great sessions,lots of information on new products and services, and great speakers including George W. Bush. There will be tons of activities through out the trade show including a golf outing, silent auction, receptions, and even a show at the Steppenwolf. Enjoy this event and your visit to Chicago!
