Get Booked This Summer!

Summer is the busiest season for the promotional modeling industry. There are tons of festivals, parades, street team events, special events, trade shows and product launches happening. This is the time models can work all day everyday and make lots of money. What are the best ways to find work? I have a few tips that I have learned through the years and I'm going to share them with you.

  1. Send your promotional modeling resume and pictures to as many agencies as possible. There are tons of companies out there, the more you are signed up with the more work you will hear about. Make sure you sign up with companies that are in different cities, most staffing agencies staff events nationwide.

  2. Use social networking sites. Facebook is an easy way to find out about events. Make sure you like us, and all of your other favorite agencies on FB to get daily updates about events in your area.

  3. Use Craigslist, Model Mayhem, Marketing Rockstar or EventSpeak to find work. These are great sites to find events in your area. Be careful when using Craigslist, it is a free site and anyone can post. Try to respond to adds that have the companies name in the post, lots of details and adds that ask for a resume and head shot. Avoid the ones that ask for as many bikini pictures as possible, that's usually a red flag.

  4. Ask other promotional models what companies they work for, or what programs they are working on. Other models are an awesome source, they can tell you about their experiences with other agencies and promotions.

These 4 tips have helped me in this industry. Take advantage of Summer, it's the time to work fun events and make a lot of money. See you around!

Street Team - Boston & Chicago

We did a week long event in April for a popular airline and we're doing it again in July! We will have our Boston team starting on July 5th and our Chicago team will be hitting the streets starting July 19th. Our promotional models are hired to create brand awareness and promote the perks of the airline. The team is sent to the busy areas to target the right demographic. Their outfits grab tons of attention and have people talking. We did this event in Chicago and it went extremely well, the models had the whole city talking about the airline. We are so excited to be working on this event again and really excited to work with our Boston and Chicago teams. Stay tuned through the month of July, we will post tons of updates and pictures.

NACS 2011

NACS is back in Chicago! This show will be taking over McCormick Place October 2-4. This year will be the 50th anniversary for this show and has been voted the number 1 trade show for buying power, and 2nd overall for buying plans. This show is perfect for anyone that works in the convenience and fuel retailing industry. There will be tons of workshops, sessions and events that will cover all aspects of this billion dollar industry. This is one of my favorite trade shows to work and one of the least conservative shows out there. We are excited to staff models for this event! Anyone that is attending this show should bring a big bag because you are guaranteed to come home with tons of snacks.

Fabtech 2011

Today is the first day of Summer and we are already casting models for trade shows in November. Fabtech is a huge trade show coming to McCormick Place November 14-17. This is the largest metal forming, fabricating, finishing, and welding expo in North America. There will be over 30,000 visitors and over 1,200 exhibitors taking up 450,000 square feet of the convention center. The goal of this show is to improve consumers productivity, increase profits, and survive in today's market. We have staffed promotional models for this show in the past and are excited to do it again.

Beauty & Brains

We found this great article about 6 top models that are now huge entrepreneurs. These models walked the cat walk, modeled some of the biggest designer pieces, were the face of many, many magazines and were role models for many young girls. Here is a list of 6 famous supermodels that have made a name for themselves.

Kate Moss: She teamed up with TopShop in 2007 to produce a total of 14 collections. The collection includes dresses that sold out in only 1 hour!

Elle Macpherson: She has her own line of lingerie that is sold pretty much anywhere.

Iman: She has a collection of everything! This includes cosmetics, skincare, fragrance, handbags and fashion accessories.

Lauren Hutton: This 67 year old model owns her own make up line geared towards older women.

Twiggy: She has her own line of linens and clothes but has endorsed many other brands in the past.

Elizabeth Hurley: She started a line of beachwear that is sold in Europe.

This is just proof that beauty and brains does exist!
