Well, July was another amazing month for Pink Avenue Models. We staffed tons of fun events all over the country and are working on a lot more that will take place this Summer. We have already started staffing events in September as well. July was a busy month for us and went by so fast, before we know it our Chicago Summer will be over. Surprise Birthday Party - Success!

Earlier this week the team at Pink Avenue Models teamed up with a new client for a huge party. This party was a 40th surprise birthday party for a well known attorney in Chicago and it took place at the Vertigo Sky Lounge. The promotional models were hired to host the party by interacting with the attendees and serving drinks. They did an amazing job, thanks for working ladies! Happy 40th birthday, we look forward to staffing many more of your amazing parties.

Muscle Beach Championship - California

The team at Pink Avenue Models is working with one of our favorite clients for another event at Muscle Beach in California. We have staffed a couple of these events and love each and every one of them. Thanks to all of the promotional models that have worked and made these events a success, and thanks in advance to the models that will work future events. Model Submission Reminders...

The team at Pink Avenue Models gets hundreds of model submissions a week, and obviously we can't add everyone. When filling out the online submission form there are a few things that we are looking for, make sure you read through this small list and follow the steps. We love adding new faces to our team and are always looking for the best promotional models out there. If you have what it takes please submit online so we can notify you of upcoming events in your area.

1. We only work with models that are 18 and older, and a lot of our clients require the models to be over 21.
2. Please submit 4 pictures, head shot, body shot, favorite picture, and a candid picture. We understand that everyone doesn't have professional pictures and that is fine. Please do not submit pictures of you with friends, boyfriends/girlfriends, with sunglasses, or naked, we can not use these pictures. We want to see you smiling and close up. Pictures are the reason that you get booked in this industry so send us pictures that show the real you.
3. Please submit a resume. We want to know what kind of work that you have done in the past. We understand that promotional models have to start somewhere and some of you may not have experience. If you have worked in this industry, show us. We like to be able to promote you to our clients and tell them why you would be a great fit for their event.
4. Make sure that you provide all of your information. We need to know what city you are located in, your measurements, age and everything else we are asking for. This information is used for us and to send to clients, please don't ignore any of the fields.
5. After everything is complete and we review your submission we will add you to our database if we find you to be a good fit. We will then start contacting you about future events in your area and will start submitting you to clients if you are available.

Summer Beauty Tips

This Summer has definitely been hotter than normal here in Chicago. It is hard for our promotional models to look their best when it is over 100 degrees outside and their hair is falling and make up is sweating off. There are tons of outdoor events going on and we want you girls to look your best so here are a few tips on how to look your best when the heat is against you.

1. Skip wearing powder, sweat and powder do not mix well. Use a tinted moisturizer and always have blotting papers. This will take the shiny look away.
2. Make sure you wear a moisturizer with SPF and carry extra sunscreen so you can reapply through out the day. Sunburn looks awful, hurts, and is bad for you. Do whatever you can to avoid this from happening.
3. Summer acne can happen from all of the sweating and sunscreen that you are applying. Try and find an oil free moisturizer to prevent breakouts. We have all been told that sleeping with your make up on is the worst thing you can do, and it's true especially after long hours of working outside.
4. Another situation that has happened to all of us, you leave home with perfect make up and by time you get to work it has melted off. Bring qtips to fix the make up that may have smudged under your eyes, have a mini mascara and lipgloss handy to reapply. In the Summer it's easiest to wear minimal amounts of make up.
5. Ingrown hairs, this happens from waxing and can be painful. After your waxing appointment clean the area with astringent and apply a hydrocortisone cream or aloe to reduce the swelling and prevent irritation.
6. Your whole body is sunburned and you are in pain. Take some Advil to reduce the swelling and relieve the pain, take a cool shower, and apply a fragrance free after sun lotion that contains aloe. Make sure you stay out of the sun until the burn heals. If you have to work outside the next day make sure you cover up the burn, you do not want to burn more.
7. After the sunburn always comes the peeling. I know its tempting to peel the skin but actually this makes it worse, allow it to shed naturally. Keep moisturizing the area and drink tons of water. The key is to keep the area hydrated.
8. Heat rash isn't as common as some of the other things we have mentioned but it happens. Take a cool shower, wear loose clothing, use calamine lotion, and avoid heavy scented lotions.
9. The team at Pink Avenue Models definitely promotes practicing healthy sun tips which can means we encourage our models to use self tanners. Some self tanners go on nice and easy and some leave streaks. To remove the streaks use fresh lemon juice and a loofah in a warm bath. This will increase the natural turnover of skin cells which will speed up the fade process.
10. Blisters are very common in the promotional modeling world. We stand in heels for up to 14 hours a day, walk for miles while working street teams, and strut around trade show floors for days at a time. There are a couple ways to heal blisters, the number one thing we want to do is pop it which is wrong because it can cause infection. The doctors recommend covering it with a bandage, if it pops on its own make sure you clean it out and cover it with Neosporin.
11. Faded hair color can look awful. .Experts recommend using a shampoo line that is made for color treated hair. Why wouldn't you use something made to protect your color?

Wizard World - Chicago!

Wizard World Chicago Comic Con is coming to the Rosemont Convention Center next month. The show will take place August 9-12 at the Rosemont Convention Center. This show is awesome and full of celebrities! We are excited to be part of this convention and can't wait to see which of our promotional models get to work. Tickets range between $35 for a 1 day pass and $75 for all days. This is definitely a fun event to work, so much to do and see. Enjoy your experience!

Muck Ruckus MS Twin Cities

The team at Pink Avenue Models is currently casting models for an awesome event in Dresser, Wisconsin. The models will be promoting a well known personal care product for men at the Muck Ruckus MS Twin Cities. This is a fun and challenging course and a great way to raise money for the MS movement. The money raised from this race will help the 17,000 people living with MS in the upper Midwest. On August 11th the city will be full of excitement and we are excited to have promotional models working at this great event. Good luck to everyone participating!

Maxim Models @ Cuervo Pro Beach Volleyball Series - Chicago!

What an amazing event this weekend! The Cuervo Pro Beach Volleyball Series took place at Oak Street Beach in Chicago all weekend and it was full of promotional models. There were a ton of Cuervo models and some Maxim models too. Here is a picture of some of the Maxim girls from yesterday. Thanks to everyone that worked this weekend and made this event a success. IMTS 2012!

The International Manufacturing Technology Show is coming to Chicago and is expected to be one of the biggest ever! This is the 29th IMTS and will have over 1,800 exhibitors taking up almost 1.2 million sq. feet of space. In just 59 days IMTS will be taking over McCormick Place, the show starts September 10th and ends on the 15th. More than 82,000 people will attend IMTS this year! This is such a big trade show and the team at Pink Avenue Models is excited to be part of it and we have already started booking Chicago's best promotional models! Pink Avenue Models On ABC!

The team at Pink Avenue Models is use to staffing trade shows, street teams, special events, and everything in between. This morning was a different type of event for us but one that we were definitely happy to be part of. Jose Cuervo Pro Beach Series - This Weekend!

One of the biggest events of the summer is coming to the beaches of Chicago this weekend! The Jose Cuervo Pro Beach Series will be taking place July 13-15 at Oak Street Beach. This is a free event that you don't want to miss. There will be lots of action coming from the Cuervo Village. This will be one of seven stops on this tour, it showcases elite pro volleyball. It is the highest paid, and most attended tour in the country. After this stop the tour heads to Hermosa Beach, Milwaukee, Manhattan Beach and ends in Huntington Beach. Some of the main sponsors of this event are Jose Cuervo, Paul Mitchell, Spalding, and USA Beach Vollyball. This event will be awesome, the weather should be perfect and the beach will be full of promotional models. See you there!
