Where did May go? Hard to believe tomorrow is June 1st and we are already looking ahead to July. Summer in Chicago is so busy with tons of events and street teams, not so many trade shows though. Healthy, Summer Glow - Get It Now

Memorial Day has passed which means Summer is officially here, yay! We all want that healthy Summer tan but have heard numerous times how bad the sun is for us. So, how we do get that gorgeous bronzed look with out laying in the sun all day? Easy! Follow these few easy steps and you will be glowing at your next event. This is a great tip for promotional models that can be used year round, enjoy ladies!

1. Prep your skin the day before by shaving and exfoliating your skin. This will help your tan last longer.
2. Moisturize. This will smooth out the surface of your skin.
3. Apply your self tanner. Lotion is the easiest, or you can use a spray if you are more experienced. If you choose a lotion apply using circular motion. If you choose a spray apply from about 5 inches away, let dry for about 10 minutes before you get dressed.
4. Enjoy your gorgeous tan! This should last about a week. Remember you still should be wearing sunscreen when you're out, minimum of spf 45.

I know that busy season has arrived in this industry and there will be a ton of outdoor events, make sure you stay hydrated and protected from the sun. Happy promoting!

Muscle Beach Event - Monday!

The team at Pink Avenue Models loves staffing fun events all over the country and this one sounds awesome. On Memorial Day some of our favorite California models will be working an event at Muscle beach. These promotional models are hired to work at a Body Building Show for a dietary supplement company. These girls will be heading to Venice to work this amazing event and to hand out promotional items and interact with the show attendees while wearing wigs and bikinis. Sounds like a great event and we are so excited to be part of it, have fun ladies!

10 White Dresses For This Weekend

We are so close to the big holiday weekend and the start of Summer! Finally! There will be tons of things going on this weekend, house parties, boat parties, the beach, and anything else outdoors. Like any other holiday weekend we have tons of events booked as well. For those promotional models that have off this weekend, you are lucky. We know that there was once a rule that you couldn't wear white until after Memorial Day, not sure if people still follow that or not. Either way I know there will be tons of white parties this weekend and I want to make sure everyone has their special white dress ready. IRCE 2012 - Chicago!

IRCE (Internet Retailer Conference & Exposition) will be taking place in Chicago June 5-8 at McCormick Place. This will be the 8th year for this convention and is also the world's biggest e-commerce event. Over 8,000 executives will attend this conference. The goal is to educate everyone on the newest practices and tools. Some of the topics that will be discussed are social media, mobile commerce, e-marketing, web merchandising, improving back-end operations, boosting conversions and profitability, and so much more. IRCE will have guest speakers, great learning experiences, and will be a great networking experience for everyone involved. NeoCon - Chicago!

NeoCon will be taking place June 11-13 at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. NeoCon is North America's largest design expo that displays thousands of innovative products and resources for corporate, hospitality, healthcare, retail, government, institutional and residential interiors. These displays come from over 700 showrooms and exhibitors with over 40,000 show attendees, 120 seminars and great key note speakers. Wrigleyville Bar Crawl - Today!

The team at Pink Avenue Models received a last minute call from a new client yesterday for a beer sampling at numerous bars in Wrigleyville today. Our client requested 2 girls to hand out 16oz cans to baseball fans all morning. The models have been working since 9:30 am and will finish right after the game starts. This is a big weekend for baseball in Chicago, the Cubs are playing the White Sox so it's an extra busy/crazy weekend. Thanks to Kristal and Deanna for working today! Team Pink Avenue

Clear Event - Rhode Island!

The team at Pink Avenue Models has staffed events all over the country in major cities and tiny cites as well. We are excited to announce that we have an event taking place in Rhode Island tomorrow, it's our first one! We have a team of promotional models that will be promoting the new hair care line Clear. Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy is a premium beauty brand that creates the foundation for strong and beautiful hair. This line contains 6 shampoos and 5 different conditioners to meet everyone's needs. They will hand out product information and educate CVS employees on the new line. These promotional models have been trained on the product and we are excited for them to work their event tomorrow. ITW After Party @ Hyatt Regency Hotel - Chicago

ITW has been taking over Chicago all week. The team at Pink Avenue Models staffed models for the trade show and some of the after parties. Last night one of our clients had an after party at the Hyatt Regency Hotel and requested 5 models to interact with the crowd. Here is a picture from last night, girls you looked amazing! Easy, Flirty Summer Hairstyles

It's 80 degrees in Chicago right now and will be all week so obviously we are all thinking about Summer. Models all know that trying to style their hair in the Summer is not the easiest, especially in a humid city like Chicago. Here are a couple hairstyles that look awesome, are easy to do, and last all day. These styles are also appropriate for any type of event that you are booked for, trade shows, street teams or any other type of promotion.

1. Braids. You can wear 1 big side braid, add little braids to a messy bun, or turn a braid into a side bun. Its very flirty, sexy and easy.
2. Sleek and straight. Make sure you use a smoothing balm to keep the frizz away.
3. Bangs. Let them be messy and do their thing. Summer is suppose to be fun and care free.
4. Half back. This is an easy way to have your hair down with it out of your face.
5. Up, with a headband. This is a quick hairstyle that can look fancy if you add a skinny headband.
6. High ponytail. Curl it, shake it out and spray it.

These 6 hairstyles are so simple and look great. Think about them before you get ready for your next event, they can be dressy or casual. Have fun experimenting.

Stay Protected This Summer

It's the middle of May and Summer will be here in no time. The team at Pink Avenue Models loves Summer because it's extremely busy for us and all of the promotional models that we work with. We will be booking tons of trade shows, street teams, promotions and special events through out the Summer all over the country. Most of these events will be outside which means khaki shorts, branded t shirts and gym shoes will be your main attire for the next couple of months. We want to remind all of our models to always have sunscreen with them. Here are a couple sun protection tips that we want you all to keep in mind while working in the extreme heat this summer.

1. Put sunscreen on before you get dressed, you won't miss spots if you do it this way and it takes at least 20 minutes to absorb. Use a minimum of spf 30.
2. Make sure that you get a new bottle every Summer and that you aren't using an expired bottle. That would defeat the purpose.
3. Always carry it with you so you can reapply during those 13 hour outdoor shifts.

Stay protected from the sun this Summer and make sure that you are drinking tons of water to stay hydrated. We have a busy Summer ahead of us and we want to make sure everyone is happy and healthy.

Successful Weekend In Chicago!

The team at Pink Avenue Models would like to take the time to thank all of the models that worked over the weekend and early this week. We had a very busy weekend and it wouldn't have been successful without our amazing promotional models. Thanks to all of the models that worked the NRA, the NRA after party at the Dana Hotel, the Eastbay promotion and the Dior Addict street team event. NRA 2012!
