Flashback Friday! NRA!

With the NRA coming up next month I thought it was appropriate to post a picture from a couple years ago. NRA was always one of my favorite trade shows to work. The hours are shorter, the convention center is full of food and anything you ever wanted to eat or drink, there are tons of promotional models working so it is kind of a reunion, and it has a fun crowd. ABS 2015 - Chicago!

One of my favorite shows of the year is back, ABS! America's Beauty Show will be taking place at McCormick Place this March. This is the best show for promotional models to work. The convention center will be full of every beauty product that you can imagine, tons of samples, workshops, class rooms and demonstrations. This show is a must for anyone in the industry! Chicago Auto Show 2014

The Chicago Auto Show is coming up, less than a month away! We have a ton of promotional models that travel and work the auto shows often so they know what to expect. The auto show is a long, tiring, but fun event to work. For an event like this agencies want to hire their best talent. They want reliable, professional, outgoing staff that can work 8+ hours for 10 days in a row. Modeling agencies can't staff promotional models that will call in sick, or whine about being tired or sore from standing. If this is your first auto show here are a couple of tips for you to make it through this 10 day event.

1. Get lots of sleep. This show is exhausting and you need to have as much patience as possible. You will be talking to people your entire shift.
2. Bring your lunch. You can by food at McCormick Place but it will be expensive and isn't healthy at all.
3. Invest in comfortable shoes, you will be standing your whole shift.
4. Take public transit, parking is nearly impossible.
5. Dress warm, the convention center is always on the cooler side.

PRI 2012 - Orlando!

The Performance Racing Industry trade show will be taking place in Orlando at the end of this month. PRI will be taking place at the Orange County Convention Center this year and will take place November 29 - December 1. There will be over 1,100 exhibitors taking up over 700,000 square feet of the convention center. They are expecting almost 40,000 buyers from over 70 countries! This is a huge show and the team at Pink Avenue Models is excited to be staffing promotional models for it.

NACS 2012 - Las Vegas!

NACS has always been one of my favorite trade shows and last October we staffed tons of models for it in Chicago. This year we are sad to see it leave our great city, but happy that it's going to Las Vegas! NACS, The Association of Convenience & Fuel Retailing will be taking over the Las Vegas Convention Center from October 7-10. There will be over 1,300 exhibitors taking up over 370,000 sq. feet of the convention center, and over 22,000 people from over 60 countries. NACS is also the number 1 buying show in America! We are so excited to be staffing promotional models for this 3 day event! Let the casting process begin...

Never Do These Things With Your Make Up

I have worked in this industry for a long time and have seen quite a bit. I have seen models at trade shows, brand ambassadors working street teams, models at special events, working liquor promotions and even on the runway. Most are obviously gorgeous but we have all made fashion mistakes and even had make up mess ups. Here are 5 things you should never do when doing your make up...

1. Don't wear the wrong color foundation. This is so obvious, and always looks awful. DON"T do it!


2. Using a concealer that is lighter then your foundation. This actually makes your blemishes more obvious instead of hiding them.


3. Make sure you check your lipgloss in the right light. If you will be in bright lights at a convention center tone it down, if it's an event at a bar brighten it up.


4. Wearing just 1 color of eyeshadow for your whole eye. Blend! Lighter colors towards the top, darkest in the crease.


5. Too much make up in general. Keep it natural, everyone appreciates a naturally beautiful girl.

There is a time and place to wear fun colors and extreme make up and lashes but most of the time clients appreciate the natural look. Have fun working your upcoming events and keep these tips in mind.

New Convention Center In MIAMI!

The new MACC has arrived, that is the Miami Airport Convention Center and we are so excited about it. This convention center includes 172,000 sq feet of space, 29,000 sq feet ballroom, and 75,000 sq feet of exhibition space. Comes with conference rooms, a business center, salon facilities, parking for 2,5000 cars, and so much more. MACC is Miami's second biggest convention center and able to hold 400 trade show booths! The improvements made on this building were AC, lighting, escalators, elevators, restrooms, flooring, and a new entrance lobby. We know a lot about trade shows and staff them all over the country so this is exciting news for us. We can't wait to staff promotional models for this location!
