Some of our favorite models worked an event over the weekend at the Sheraton Chicago. The girls were hired to grab attention and help our client with general trade show assistance and that is exactly what they did. It was hard not to see these promotional models, they were wearing showgirl costumes! Thanks to all of the models that worked CDS for us, you girls were amazing!

ABS 2012!

America's Beauty Show is one of my favorite trade shows of the year and it's coming back to Chicago this weekend! The ABS will be taking over McCormick Place March 3-5 and I can not wait. This is a show for anyone that has an interest in beauty. It's the one trade show that you can learn new beauty trends, buy new products, watch demonstrations, and see all the new products. It's heaven for the promotional models that get to work. The models might have their hair styled, cut, colored, or they may be demonstrating a new product. We have a couple clients for this show and are so happy to provide some of our best Chicago talent.

Never Do These Things With Your Make Up

I have worked in this industry for a long time and have seen quite a bit. I have seen models at trade shows, brand ambassadors working street teams, models at special events, working liquor promotions and even on the runway. Most are obviously gorgeous but we have all made fashion mistakes and even had make up mess ups. Here are 5 things you should never do when doing your make up...

1. Don't wear the wrong color foundation. This is so obvious, and always looks awful. DON"T do it!


2. Using a concealer that is lighter then your foundation. This actually makes your blemishes more obvious instead of hiding them.


3. Make sure you check your lipgloss in the right light. If you will be in bright lights at a convention center tone it down, if it's an event at a bar brighten it up.


4. Wearing just 1 color of eyeshadow for your whole eye. Blend! Lighter colors towards the top, darkest in the crease.


5. Too much make up in general. Keep it natural, everyone appreciates a naturally beautiful girl.

There is a time and place to wear fun colors and extreme make up and lashes but most of the time clients appreciate the natural look. Have fun working your upcoming events and keep these tips in mind.

FA&M Expo - Fort Myers!

The team at Pink Avenue Models is currently casting models for the FA&M Expo in Fort Myers Florida in April. This expo will take place at the Sanibel Harbour Marriot April 23-25. It's a 2.5 day expo/conference that brings food and beverage processors and suppliers together. There will be very knowledgeable speakers that will present educational sessions and essential solutions. A great expo for anyone in this industry! I wonder which promotional models will get to work this amazing event.

South Beach Wine & Food Festival - This Weekend!

SOBEWFF has arrived! Yes South Beach Wine & Food Fest will be taking place February 23-26 and we are excited for this event. This is a national, star studded event that showcases the best wine and spirits producers, chefs, and culinary personalities. Not only is this a great fest to attend but it also has a great purpose and benefits the FIU Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. It has already raised over $14 million dollars for the school! This fest started 11 years ago and gets bigger and better every year and had over 55,000 attendees last year. This is one event that I really wish I was attending. I won't be there but there will be male models from Pink Avenue Models working for some of our clients. We are happy to be part of this event and excited for our models that get to work it, have fun guys!

New Convention Center In MIAMI!

The new MACC has arrived, that is the Miami Airport Convention Center and we are so excited about it. This convention center includes 172,000 sq feet of space, 29,000 sq feet ballroom, and 75,000 sq feet of exhibition space. Comes with conference rooms, a business center, salon facilities, parking for 2,5000 cars, and so much more. MACC is Miami's second biggest convention center and able to hold 400 trade show booths! The improvements made on this building were AC, lighting, escalators, elevators, restrooms, flooring, and a new entrance lobby. We know a lot about trade shows and staff them all over the country so this is exciting news for us. We can't wait to staff promotional models for this location!

Last week some of our favorite promotional models worked an event at Pranna Restaurant in New York. The models were sent to work a launch party for UPlanMe.
