The Assembly Show 2014 - Chicago
I know that it is still June but the team at Pink Avenue Models is always looking ahead, way ahead! We are already staffing trade show models for The Assembly Show that will take place in Chicago this October. We staffed this trade show last year and are excited to be doing it again.
The Assembly Show is the only premier trade show exclusive to assembly products, technology and equipment. This show launched last year with over 1100 exhibitors and will be even bigger this year. This event will take place October 28 - 30 at Rosemont Convention Center. We are just 96 days away from the start of this show!
If you need promotional models for this trade show or any other event please contact the team at Pink Avenue Models. We can be reached at 312.993.7991 or by email at info@pinkavenuemodels.com for more information.

My Biggest Pet Peeve In The Promotional Modeling Industry
I worked promotions for a long time and still do when I get a chance. Events are fun and you never know who you will meet or what you will experience. One of my biggest pet peeves is a weak team. There is nothing worse than getting paid the same amount as the other promotional models but doing 100% of the work. Have you ever worked a promotion with another model that thinks she was hired just to be pretty? It's the worst! Promotional models are hired because they are attractive but clients also want them to be intelligent, outgoing, friendly, able to have a conversation with everyone and trained on the product so they can educate potential consumers. Please don't be the weak link, it ruins the event for the client and the other promotional models that you are working with.

Perfect Promo Hair!
The team at Pink Avenue Models does a lot of reading. We do research on upcoming events, current fashion, beauty tips and whatever else is needed in the promotional modeling industry. I have seen a lot of hair tips and I feel like I have shared them all with our promotional models. Here is another way to curl your hair, I've never seen this process before but it looks easy!

Flashback Friday!
This was an amazing event that we did a couple years ago. I think any event with Ferrari would be awesome though. I love this picture! The set up looks great, the promotional models look great, and it was taken at a fancy place in Chicago! Hopefully we get to work on a similar event sometime soon.

Perfect Updo In 25 Seconds!
This made my day! I have extremely long hair and there are days that I don't have time to do it, or in Chicago there are humid days where nothing works. I give promotional models permission to wear their hair like this at a trade show, event, promotion or even at a street team event! It's a little messy, takes 25 seconds, and looks way better than the sock bun. Enjoy!

Please Carry Sunscreen This Summer! Your Outdoor Events Will Be Hot!
I know it has happened to me and I am sure that it happens often, it's an awful situation. I am talking about sunburn. There is nothing worse than working an outdoor festival for 3 days and being burned, uncomfortable, and having the worst tan lines. Here in Chicago we wait all year for Summer to come. We want the street fests, the music fests, the beach and all of the awesome events. Sometimes we are having so much fun that we don't notice that our bodies are burning. Sunburn is awful! It's painful, dangerous, and can cause long lasting damage and potential skin cancer. If any of our promotional models made the mistake and didn't use sunscreen here are a few tips to make you a little more comfortable. ALWAYS have sunscreen, the higher the SPF the better.

The team at Pink Avenue Models wants to take the time to thank our East Coast staff for all of their hard work. We have been working with one of our repeat clients since the beginning of May on an ongoing promotion. Our brand ambassadors have been amazing! We appreciate all of you working long hours, we know the events start at the crack of dawn! Thank you all for showing up, knowing your facts, and turning in your recaps on time. Thanks to all of the promotional models that have jumped on the last minute shifts as well. We appreciate all of you and couldn't do this without you.

Promotional Models, Please Keep It Professional
I have worked in this industry for many years, I have been the promotional model and I have been the person at the modeling agency staffing events. I've seen a little bit of everything and there are some things I just don't understand. A couple things that you should think about if you want to work in the promotional modeling industry or if you already do work in this industry here are a few things you should change.
- Your email address should be semi professional and not from high school. Try to keep it simple, your name works best. There is nothing more shocking than some of the email addresses that I have seen. My goodness!
- Unfortunately the internet is not private and a lot of work is now booked online. Keep your facebook profile picture classy. The pictures we see are appalling sometimes. I wonder.. how would this person ever get booked! Again, your facebook should be under your name, we don't want to see an inappropriate name.
- Speaking of names, tell us your real name! This is work, there will be legal contracts involved. The most annoying thing for us is dealing with "model names" and this happens often. I hate sending a contract to a model and getting a response that says "sorry, that isn't my legal name, can you change it?"
- Fill out your paperwork correctly! Don't beg me for your check that we sent to the wrong address because you filled out your W9 wrong. We use echo sign, it's the easiest way to fill out paperwork. Please pay attention.
- Please be professional onsite. Show up on time, interact with attendees, know your brand facts, have manners, and work as hard as you can. You were hired for a reason.
